Artist Of The Week: Amythyst Kiah

We are naming Amythyst Kiah our Artist Of The Week!

Amythyst Kiah is a singer and songwriter from Johnson City, Tennessee. She is an alum of the Bluegrass, Old-Time, Country Music program at East Tennessee State University. Her primary genres include blues, country, folk, and rock. Over the years, Amythyst has been influenced by several artists including Adele, Dolly Parton, Janelle Monáe, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. In addition to being a solo artist, Amythyst is a member of the female banjo group, Our Native Daughters, along with Allison Russell, Leyla McCalla, and Rhiannon Giddens. Amythyst released her latest album Wary + Strange in 2021. She also recently released a cover of Joy Division’s song “Love Will Tear Us Apart.”
