We are naming Oddisee our Artist Of The Week!
Oddisee is a rapper and producer from Washington D.C. but now based out of Brooklyn, New York. In addition to being solo artist, Oddisee is a part of the hip hop group, The Diamond District, which he is the founder of. Oddisee’s style has been influenced by A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. Oddisee has an impressive discography that includes several studio albums, mixtapes, singles, and EPs. He has also had the opportunity to collaborate with artists like DJ Jazzy Jeff and Royce da 5’9″. Oddisee’s sound is directly influenced by the DMV sound which stands for District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The DMV sound is described as funk with less sampling and more original beats and rhythms. Check out Oddisee’s latest album, Odd Cure.
