Music Review: Progress by Rippy Austin

Los Angeles based hip hop artist, Rippy Austin, released his third album, Progress, in May of 2021. This album offers listeners a refreshing take on hip hop. Austin’s mellow, Drake-like voice allows him to stand out from the crowd. Out of the eight tracks, the songs that stand out the most are 737, Froze, and Grow. Rippy Austin’s flow is smooth, and the use of autotune works out well for this 90s hip hop inspired album. The only complaint is the fact that the songs are not long enough. If you’re looking for music to hype you up or work out to, this will not be the album for you. On the other hand, listeners who are looking for a relaxing and laid-back hip hop experience will thoroughly enjoy Progress.
